This sandbox is a wonderful, mutable place for learning and play. Each idea is a grain of sand. On one page, a sandbox writer is someone who can combine them to build castles and mermaids and worlds. On the other side, a sandbox writer is also someone who can take one idea - one grain of sand - and find the galaxies within.
I am a sandbox writer. I have been building sand castles as long as I can remember. Well, not castles so much as dragons and fairies and talking carpets. These have taken the form of poems, lyrics, short stories, picture books, journals, and novels.
I am a sandbox ninja, too, I guess. I live kung fu the way I live writing. Both are less hobby than lifestyle. Parts of myself I dare not leave behind. I would not be myself anymore if I did so.
